October is dedicated to The Holy Rosary - Our Lady's favorite prayer.
Virtue - Confidence (Matt. 28: 20) - "My dearest Mother Mary, behold, me, your child, in prayer at your feet. Accept this Holy Rosary, in which I offer you in accordance with your request at Fatima, as a proof of my tender love for you, for the intentions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and in atonement for the offenses comitted against your Immaculate Heart."

THE NAME "ROSARY" IS COMMONLY USED IN REFERENCE TO ONLY ONE MYSTERY OF FIVE DECADES CONSISTING OF "HAIL MARY'S" AND AN "OUR FATHER" BEFORE EACH DECADE. "THE GAINING OF THE PLENARY INDULGENCE FOR SAYING ONE OF THE MYSTERIES IS REGULATED BY THE FOLLOWING NORMS:"
A. THE FIVE DECADES MUST BE RECITED CONTINUOUSLY
B. VOCAL RECITATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY PIOUS MEDITATION ON THE MYSTERIES
C. IN PUBLIC RECITATION THE MYSTERIES MUST BE ANNOUNCED IN THE MANNER
CUSTOMARY IN THE PLACE
D. FOR PRIVATE RECITATION HOWEVER, IT SUFFICES IF THE VOCAL RECITATION IS
ACCOMPANIED BY MEDITATION ON THE MYSTERIES
E. FOR THOSE BELONGING TO THE ORIENTAL RITES, AMONG WHOM THIS DEVOTION IS NOT
PRACTICED, THE PATRIARCHS CAN DETERMINE SOME OTHER PRAYERS IN HONOR OF THE
BLESSED VIRGIN MARY IN ORDER TO GAIN THE SAME INDULGENCE AS FOR THE ROSARY
Prayer to Saint Joseph
for the
Month of October
To thee, O blessed Joseph, do we fly in our tribulation;
and having implored the help of thy most holy spouse,
we confidently crave thy patronage also.
Through that charity which bound thee
to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God,
and through the paternal love
with which thou didst embrace the Child Jesus,
we humbly beseech thee graciously
to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ
hath purchased by His Blood and with thy power
and strength to aid us in our necessities.
O most watchful guardian of the Divine family,
defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ;
O most loving Father,
ward off from us every contagion of error
and corrupting influence;
O our most mighty protector,
be propitious to us,
and from heaven assist us in this
our struggle with the power of darkness;
and as once thou didst rescue the Child Jesus
from deadly peril,
so now protect God's Holy Church
from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity:
Shield, too, each one of us by thy constant protection,
so that, supported by thine example and thine aid,
we may be able to live piously,
to die holily, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.
